I just bought the Anker SOLIX C1000 Portable Power Station. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but it came well packed and looks well built.
1 kWh in a ~29 pound package is class leading! I especially like the relative safety of the LFP battery chemistry compared to other similar products using NMC cells. The durability (cycle life of LFP is better than NMC) and safety sealed the deal for me in spite of the slightly lower energy density of LFP.
I connected 200 watts of PV, the MPPT charge controller in the C1000 tracks quickly and is efficient. I was seeing 177 watts going into the C1000 the other day. It was about 45 deg. F. outside, very low humidity, with a breeze; so the PV modules were doing a little better than they typically would on a humid, hot, summer day.
The app was easy to install and the remote control along with status monitoring is handy. I adjusted the max AC charge power down to 400 watts to make life a little easier on the cells. The included AC power cord will easily take 1300 watts for that max charge speed, if needed. That said, it is a little stiff. Lower the max charging power and you can use a lighter gauge, more flexible charging cord.
I use it for portable power around the house, when I don't feel like dragging out an extension cord. It will also serve as a backup power source to power my furnace or fridge, depending on the season. I will probably pick up the expansion battery next time it goes on sale.
Overall, this is a well built product. The functionality and flexibility were well thought out by the design team. This is coming from an electrical engineer who works in the industrial energy storage space.
Easy to use, lots of power in a relatively small package at a fair price. Lifesaver in a hurricane (and I'm in Florida.)
runs the tv and internet well
I had to use this during the last storm ( Milton ) as we were without power for almost 20 hours. I had it connected to my fridge/ freezer in 1 hour increments and used it to power a desktop fan to keep us somewhat cool. I don't think I needed to do it but I charged it on my deck with the solar panels which topped it back up to 75%.
I am so impressed with this unit that I am going to purchase another so I can use it for another part of my home
